My Story By Ilovesnow

I am a 17 year old female from Hampshire. I have curvature of the spine at the top of my back. I have worn a spinal brace since I was 10. I found the brace extremely uncomfortable as I had to wear it 23 hours a day, but I think my curve would have been even worse if I hadn't. The brace did stop the curve from deteriorating until I reached the age of 15 when the curve became progressively worse. I will now have to have an operation on the top of my back to correct this. The curve hasn't stopped me from being able to sail, snowboard, ski and even surf but I am worried that after the operation some of my movement will be restricted. My doctor is Mr Boree from Souhampton Hospital.    Beth
