At first my cast was very low where my legs are and high under my arms. It was also uncomfortable but when I first started to walk with the cast on I felt great!!.
I didn´t feel dizzy as I expected to do (brill).
The first time I walked with Vicky (The Physiotherapist) she said I could go home straight away. I felt really good and even better when she told me. Everybody was watching me, I didn´t mind because I was enjoying myself walking and wanted to be pleased with myself. I also wanted to please Vicky, Mum and Dad.
When I sit down I have to sit at an angle and cannot sit at 90º for long because I get pains down the right side of my back. I don´t know how I will cope at school yet but I am sure I will.
The cast isn't heavy but put it this way I can´t walk far because it tires me out so quickly and then it gets heavy and my legs get tired. Besides all these problems I feel I have adjusted to it all quite well. In bed it is comfortable, no problems there.
Wearing clothes I am restricted, like Jeans etc, but I will overcome that like everything else - it is like a part of my body and I like that.
I am missing having a bath because obviously I cannot get in the bath with a plaster cats on, Mum and Dad have promised me a stay in a hotel with a swimming pool when it comes off in 7 months, i love swimming so having this cast on for this long is a nightmare, but I have to do it so I will.
