D. Gary Young developed the Raindrop Technique during the 1980s based on his research with essential oils as anti microbial agents, and prompted by some fascinating information he learned from an elder amongst the Lakota Indian Nation in South Dakota.
Since 1989, RT has received an enormous amount of praise from users around the world for its ability to help ameliorate spinal abnormalities such as scoliosis and kyphosis. Also it facilitates tissue cleansing. It is a powerful, non-invasive tool for assisting the body in correcting defects in the curvature of the spine by utilizing the antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory action of several key essential oils.
During the years that it has been practiced it has resolved numerous cases of scoliosis, kyphosis, and chronic back pain.
Further, for hundreds of individuals it has eliminated the need for back surgery for hundreds of people. By integrating Vita Flex and massage, the power of essential oils brings the body into structural and electrical alignment. Antiseptic, calming, stimulating, soothing, Young Living's essential oils bring balance to all systems of the body.
The use of undiluted essential oils in Raindrop Technique is consistent with the French model for aromatherapy-which is the most extensively practiced and studied model in the world. with over 40 years of experience using essential oils clinically, the French have consistently recommended neat (undiluted) use of essential oils. An illustrious roster of 20th century French physicians provides convincing evidence that undiluted essential oils have valuable place in the therapeutic arsenal of clinical professionals. Rene Gattefosse PhD Jean Valnet, MD; Jean-Claude Lapraz, MD; Daniel Penoel, MD; and many others have long attested to the safe and effective use of undiluted essential oils and the dramatic powerful benefits they can impart. According to Dr. Penoel, "What happens when we use essential oils without diluting them? With many current essential oils, nothing dangerous or serious can happen."
In the case of Raindrop Technique the use of certain undiluted essential oils typically causes minor reddening and "heat" in the tissues. Normally, this is perfectly safe and not something to be overly concerned about. Blondes, redheads, and persons whose systems are toxic, are more susceptible to this temporary reddening. Should this reddening or heat become excessive, it can be remedied within a minute or two by the immediate application of several drops of pure, quality vegetable oil to the affected area.
Temporary mild warming is normal for RT. Typically, it is even milder than that of many capsicum creams or sports ointments. Instead, rather being a cause of concern, this warning indicates that positive benefits are being imparted.
Raindrop Technique uses a sequence of highly anticrobial essential oils synergistically conbined to simultaneously kill the responsible viral agents and reduce inflammation. The principle single oils used included: oregano (Origanum compactum), thyme (Thymus vulgais), basil or balsam fir (Orimum basilicum or Abies balsamea), cypress (Cupressus sempervirens), wintergreen or birch (Gaultheria procumbens or Betula alleghaniensis), marjoram (Origanum majorana) and peppermint (Mentha piperita).
The oils are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches above the back and very lightly massaged along the vertebrae and back muscles. although the entire process takes about 45 minutes to complete, the oils will continue to work in the body for up to one week following treatment, with continued re-alignment taking place during this time.
